I collected data over four months and observed my research participants in their classroom, homes, hakwons, PC game rooms, and other contexts. Data sources included my field notes; analysis memos; audio-taped interviews with my focal students, parents, peers, and teachers; students' portfolios; and the results of a Reading Interest/Attitude Inventory.
